Wildcat Construction should not be in business
Wildcat Construction and Home Improvement has been in business for 23 years and 11 months owned by Mr. Jad Farhat. I am writing this review to explain my experience and to alert anyone who is going to hire his company to understand what you may experience! In Oct 2022, my home caught fire. Mr. Farhat told me that he had performed Fire and Water damage repairs over hundreds of times. He told me he knew how to handle the insurance company. Before I go further understand. I fired Mr. Jad Farhat for the destructive work he performed and shortcuts that resulted in delays and also repeat work by other contractors which cost me several hundred thousand dollars. When I fired him he had two months and two days to complete all work. He put a lien against the home because I would not let me finish the home. The lien was for more than $220,000. He did not follow his own contract that he designed which was only a few lines. He did not follow the Insurance company guidance, he did not negotiate, he did not show proof of work, he did not go by the price constraints of the insurance company nor inform the owner me of damages that his crew had done. To start with their was three companies involved with the insurance company two were to take out all house hold goods prior to any demolition of walls, ceiling etc where the fire took place to prevent damage to antiques, furniture etc. Wildcat Construction/Jad Farhat was responsible for all demolition, and rebuilding but was to go firmly by the spreadsheet that the insurance company gave to me and him. Mr. Farhat immediately went into the home and started taring out the basement walls and ceilings. Only two rooms were to have been torn out that were totally destroyed by fire. Instead he did all the walls and ceilings throwing all the furniture, antiques, fur jackets, clothes, etc into the middle of the floor breaking expensive items, to include crystal, china etc and very expensive antiques. He told me the insurance company would cover all damage. The insurance company had already photographed everything and told me that after what Mr. Farhat had done they would not pay for those items that he damaged. The Insurance company paid Mr. Farhat to get porta potties for the site, but instead he let his people go into the dumpsters and along the outside of the home to do their business. I found out his crews were urinating on the floor of the home and I had to replace flooring and the area around where they urinated. The Defecated on the floor in the basement and left it in a hidden corner. This was an extreme health issue to his workers and the home owner! Mr. Farhat was continually performing short cuts, as proof I have pictures and videos and the fact that work performed was less then professional is an exaggeration. He was not professional at all. He over charged, did not perform work for which he was paid for and threaten me when I addressed issues with him that I found. All which were based on fact! Examples, of short cuts, plumbing was torn out then not reinstalled at all in one bathroom. The wall was drywalled over so the bathroom had no plumbing for the sink at all. The wall had to be torn down after I fired Mr. Farhat. Clogbusters Plumbing Richmond KY. Had taken out the plumbing and not replaced the plumbing in the wall. The plumbing had been rerouted by bypassing the sink. Another company had to redo the majority of the Clogbusters work. All the dry wall had to be redone along with the plumbing. Costing just for the plumbing additional $10,000 out of my pocket and the additional costs for drywall work. Mr. Farhat was to replace all damaged brick. The insurance company paid him approx. $35,000 for cleaning and replacing of bricks. He spray washed the brick did not replace any of the brick. The brick on the home was no longer being made so I asked for a portion of the walls to be rebricked and they agreed. Mr. Farhat made no attempt to do any of the leg work or verification on the status or costs of the brick. Along with this the fire had gone into the roof of the home. One of the very first things that should have happened as the roof should have been repaired, sealed off and all fire damage in those areas remediated. Windows that were broken, were never ordered and when he tried to order he told me he was installing double pain windows in the home. Only a few years earlier the whole house had triple pane windows installed. Then he was only going to replace the broken windows when the insurance company wanted him to replace all windows. The same happened with doors. The reason the above is so important is in December 2022 two months after the fire. Richmond underwent a deep freeze. 9 water pipes froze up and flooded the upstairs and basement. This could have all been prevented if Mr. Farhat had closed all of the OPENINGS that let the intense cold air into the home. I had a heater in the basement and Mr. Farhats team turned it off. Moister fans in bath rooms were not vented properly! No hoses so the shower was ran over time black mold would have developed cause great health problems to who ever lives in the home. I caught Mr. Farhats teams taking lumber, dry wall etc out of the house and taking them to other sites. There was no accountability, but a lot of costs overruns. He screamed out in the house that I was committing insurance fraud and he called up my insurance agent and told him I was committing Insurance fraud. I had a history with the agent keeping him totally informed of all my actions and asking him what the insurance would pay for so he was aware of all my actions. He told me he just listened to Mr. Farhat and then he called me and told me not to worry. It was shortly after that I fired Mr. Farhat. Everything Is documented, I have pictures, videos and testimonies from inspectors and others. I have seeked the Kentucky State Police to investigate for fraud and other charges. But until the lien against my home is removed, I cannot sell the home, I am paying outrageous lawyer fees, I cannot get a divorce. Kentucky Bond law is a complete fraud and will cost you unbelievable amount of money if you are trying to negate a lien. Do not waste your time. Only Millionairs can afford it. Kentucky is one of the few states with a 200% requirements for Mechanics lien bonds. The courts can take up to five to six years to fight and will cost you $$$ Jad Farhat is betting you will get tired of fighting him and take your home. Anyone who has had an experience the Mr. Jad Farhat let the Madison County DA KNOW! Along with the State Police!
