"RDT" aka Readers Direct - is a total scam. They randomly contacted me via cell phone, said I was a $10mil sweepstakes finalist and if I subscribed to their magazine offer I'd be contacted if I was a winner. They charged me $57/mo for 1+yr subscription for multiple magazines each month - for a total of $855.00. This was in Oct, 2008. I received just two magazines in December. I have received no invoice. My bill was due on the 1st of every month yet I advised I would not make another payment until I received an invoice and/or two month worth of magazines. Their "Collections Dept" has called me repeatedly stating my account is delinquent yet no invoice has come and no additional magazines. They are harassing and rude and I finally terminated my "verbal agreement" today when they refused to give me a number for Customer Service who, they said, was the only Dept. that could cancel my subscription, but if I called that dept., they would only transfer me to Collections as I am "delinquent." They refused to provide me with a way to cancel my subscription. I spoke to the general rep and a man named Charles who states he is the manager. Both gave me the same, limited response. I believe this establishment to be a consumer scam and warn the public to avoid doing business with them.
