What Are the Best Techniques to Stay Calm in Traffic Jams?
|
3/18/2025 6:58 AM (PST)
I swear, nothing tests my patience more than getting stuck in a traffic jam when I’m already running late. Yesterday, I was on my way to an important meeting, and of course, there was an accident up ahead. What should’ve been a 15-minute drive turned into 45 minutes of stop-and-go madness. I could feel myself getting more and more frustrated, checking the clock every few seconds, gripping the steering wheel like it was the problem. I know stress doesn’t help, but it’s so hard not to get irritated. How do you guys deal with this? Any tricks to stay calm when you’re stuck in traffic?

Oh man, I totally get it. The worst is when there’s no way around it, and you just have to sit there. What helps me is putting on a good playlist or a podcast—something that keeps my mind off the situation. I also try to remind myself that getting worked up won’t make the cars move any faster. One thing I’ve learned the hard way is that losing patience in traffic can sometimes lead to mistakes—like speeding as soon as you get a chance to move, which can end in a ticket. If that ever happens, checking out the https://speedingticketkc.com/ speeding ticket lawyer cost in your area can be a lifesaver. But ideally, staying cool and just accepting the delay is the best way to go.
